More Adventures

We spent two amazing weeks in Tuscany in June and July.

We went with LaLa and met up with Kris (aka Tida) and Bill (aka Uncle Bill Bill)...the honeymooners.

Some of the highlights of our trip...
LaValle- Villa where we stayed during our time in Tuscany. We picked vegetables from the garden each night and took walks through their olive grove and winery. We have many special memories of sitting on the back deck over good food and vino.
Swimming- Emma learned to dive off the diving board and swim in the deep end at our pool in the villa. We also went swimming in the Mediterranean. Daddy was Addie's hero when he bought her water wings and she could paddle around the pool on her own.
Florence- Museums, gelato, street performers, magical city
Sienna- We arrived a day before the big horse race and were able to revel in the excitement and anticipation of the race. We walked through different areas of the city and heard chanting and enjoyed the celebration.
LaLa's birthday celebration- We drove to the coast and enjoyed swimming the Mediterranean and a seafood lunch in honor of LaLa. Gelato for dessert :)
Volterra- medieval old city, beautiful!
San Giamigano- another medieval city more crowded, but still breathtaking!
Certaldo- took the finicular up to the old city and enjoyed an amazing lunch at a pizzeria in a courtyard. The girls loved going on the "nicular"as Addie called it.
4th of July- BBQ poolside and going to hear a marching band concert in our little village

This was a magical trip and we will all remember the wonderful memories we made.

Hi All,

Here are some clips from Italy. We are still going through the footage and organizing what we have. We are also learning how to upload videos onto the blog. It is not as straightforward as we thought, you cannot upload from iMovie. You need to export it as a quicktime or upload it to YouTube first. A bit of a pain, but it'll work for now. If you know of a better way to upload vids from a mac to blogger please let us know, we are using a flip video camera.

Clip#1 This is a clip of the girls running through the town of Montaione where we stayed for two weeks. This was the fourth of July and the girls were hopped up on Gelato.

Clip #2 This is the Duomo (cathedral) in Siena. The video might make you dizzy, but I was trying to capture all I could...beautiful! We visited many cathedrals while there, and in my opinion this was the most stunning. When compared to the more famous Duomo in Florence I would say this one is much more ornate and intricate, while the Duomo in Florence is huge it lacks the detail of Siena's.
